App permissions

Why permissions matter
Chisto.mk asks for device permissions only when a feature needs them. Denying access blocks parts of the 4-step report wizard, Map tab accuracy, or event QR check-in.
Core permissions
- Camera and Photos for Evidence stage photos.
- Location while using the app for pins in Macedonia.
- Notifications for report status and event updates.
Location permission
Choose While Using the App. The Location stage needs a pin inside Macedonia. Nearby feed filters and map centering also use your position.
Fix location issues
- iOS: Settings, Privacy and Security, Location Services, Chisto.mk.
- Android: Settings, Location, App permissions, Chisto.mk, Allow while using.
- Enable Precise Location on iOS when offered.
- Restart the app after changing the setting.
Camera and photos
The Evidence stage accepts up to five photos from the camera or library. Without access, you cannot complete a report.
Recommended settings
- Allow camera access when prompted during your first report.
- Allow photo library access to attach existing images.
- Free storage space if uploads fail repeatedly.
Notifications permission
Push alerts cover report status, nearby reports, cleanup events, and event chat. You can fine tune eight notification groups inside the app even when push is allowed.
Enable alerts
- Tap Allow when your device asks during onboarding.
- iOS: Settings, Notifications, Chisto.mk.
- Android: Settings, Apps, Chisto.mk, Notifications.
- Open the in app inbox preferences to mute or snooze groups.
Review permissions anytime
Open device Settings for Chisto.mk and review each toggle. Motion or fitness data is not required for core reporting.
After you change settings
- Force close and reopen Chisto.mk once.
- Retry the action that failed, such as Report FAB or QR scan.
- Check troubleshooting if errors persist.
