Frequently asked questions

Answers about Chisto.mk: reporting pollution, the public map, cleanup events, privacy, and partnerships in Macedonia.

What is Chisto.mk?

Chisto.mk is a civic environmental platform for Macedonia. With the mobile app on iOS and Android you photograph pollution sites, pin them on a public map, follow updates, and join cleanup events when organisers publish them.

Is the app free?

Yes, and it will stay free. Creating an account, submitting reports, using the map, and joining cleanups cost nothing. There are no subscriptions, in-app purchases, or hidden fees. Chisto.mk is built as a public civic tool, not a paid product.

Who sees my reports?

After moderation, approved reports appear on the public map with the photo and location you submitted. Communities, journalists, and partners use the map to verify sites and track progress. We explain what personal data is shown in our privacy policy.

Can I report anonymously?

You need a verified account to submit reports, so we can reduce spam and follow up when needed. Your full name is not shown on every screen, but reports are linked to your account and may be visible to moderators. Read the privacy policy for details.

How do cleanup events work?

Organisers publish cleanup events in the app, usually linked to a pollution site on the map. Browse nearby events, register when signup is open, check in on the day, and see outcomes after the activity finishes.

How can organisations partner with you?

Municipalities, NGOs, schools, and companies can contact us to explore map data, joint cleanups, or awareness campaigns. Use the contact form and we will reply with next steps.
