What the map shows
The Map tab is a shared civic view of pollution sites in Macedonia. Each pin is a place where someone documented an environmental concern.
Quick orientation
- Zoom until street names and landmarks match what you see outside.
- Tap a pin to open photos, descriptions, and history.
- Counts change as moderators approve new reports.
Heatmap layer
Toggle Show heatmap to highlight areas with more reported activity. Hide heatmap when you need a cleaner view for precise pin placement.
Using the heatmap
- Look for hot zones when planning group cleanups.
- Turn heatmap off before confirming a Location pin.
- Combine with Nearby feed filter when scouting on foot.
Site detail basics
A site sheet summarises community submissions. It supports transparency, not assigning blame to individuals.
What you can rely on
- Photos and text come from contributors and moderators.
- Timestamps show recency when displayed.
- Take action links reporting, events, and comments in one place.
Moving around safely
Use the map while stationary or as a passenger. Keep awareness of traffic and private property boundaries.
Good habits
- Prefer daylight for first visits to unfamiliar edges.
- Step back and capture from a distance if a path feels unsafe.
- Respect no entry signs even when rubbish is visible beyond them.
When to file a report
Open the Report FAB when you can add fresh evidence or correct a pin. Duplicates without new facts slow moderation.
Before you start
- Gather photos and note what changed since the last visit.
- Confirm you have report credits available.
- Complete all four stages: Evidence, Details, Location, Review.
